R/GA continues its global expansion push with the opening of its eighth office in Stockholm.
Digitas Sweden exec Anders Erlandsson has been recruited as managing director and his Digitas colleague Kay Höök as executive creative director of the office which is R/GA’s second in Europe, after London.
Erlandsson has more than 20 years in the ad business: Prior to Digitas where he served as a member of the executive management group, he was a partner and CEO at Svensson Advertising Agency and a founding partner, CEO of Ondatie Advertising Agency. He has been the strategic lead on accounts like Canon, Nike and Absolut. While working on Absolut, he led the retail strategy for the widely-regarded “In an Absolut World” campaign.
Aside from Digitas, Höök was instrumental in growing German agency Scholz & Friends in Stockholm. A veteran of 15 years of working at both offline and online agencies, he (YES, Kay in this context is a male.) is associated with Nike campaigns like the interactive “RUN” interactive pitch, Nike Pro “It’s All about Breathing” and the Nike Golf “Redefine Range” work. Höök has also been managing director of OgilvyOne and Ogilvy Interactive in Sweden.
With its thriving digital culture, Sweden has been a popular expansion spot for U.S. agencies in Europe. Two years ago, for instance, Crispin, Porter + Bogusky opened its first European office when it acquired Swedish digital agency, Daddy.
