RDW Group Scores Bank Rhode Island

BOSTON Independent RDW Group said it has added Bank Rhode Island for advertising and public relations following a review of undisclosed shops.

The client spent close to $1 million on ads last year, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR. The bank, with more than $1.2 billion in total assets, had recently worked with The Link Agency, an independent shop in Providence, R.I.

“We have a very aggressive plan for 2005,” said Marie van Luling, the bank’s svp of marketing and corporate communications. “And we wanted a fully integrated communications resource to help us achieve it. RDW Group is a strategic and formidable partner that offers a level of sophistication and critical mass.”

The win is important for the Providence-based agency because “Bank Rhode Island is a major player locally in both the commercial and retail banking markets,” said Jim Pontarelli, president of RDW.
