Pop Star, Flying Car Top Christmas Catalog

DALLAS A private concert by Elton John costing $1.5 million ranks among the priciest gift offerings in this year’s Neiman Marcus Christmas Book.

The 2005 version is the 79th edition of the high-profile catalog for the Dallas-based department-store chain.

Other gift ideas include an M400 Skycar prototype for $3.5 million that is designed to fly at 350 mph as well as drive on three wheels. A more conventional car in the catalog is the Lexus GS 450h hybrid-powered sedan.

A Grand Empire Railroad with 1,000 feet of track designed for a generous size backyard at $200,000 and a tree sculpture complete with tree house for $50,000 are also available.

The concert for up to 500 guests includes an Elton John Signature Series Red Piano designed by Yamaha. The price is actually a donation to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which was established in 1992.

Published first in 1926 as a 16-page catalog, the book will be distributed to 2 million homes this year, the company said.
