Phillips, Lujan in RadioShack’s First Latino TV

DALLAS RadioShack has hired actors Lou Diamond Phillips and Daniela Lujan as celebrity spokespersons in its first TV effort that exclusively targets Hispanics.

The first phase of the Spanish-language campaign will include four spots and will break this month via Interpublic Group’s FCB Worldwide Puerto Rico. The work will run in Puerto Rico, Texas, California and Florida.

Phillips and Lujan will appear together to promote products that include the Dish Network and the electronics retailer’s wireless services. The vignettes’ format will be similar to the one used in general-market spots that star celebrities such as Howie Long and Teri Hatcher.

Client representative Charles Hodges said point-of-purchase materials were the only Spanish-language work the Fort Worth, Texas-based company created in the past.

Billings were undisclosed. RadioShack’s in-house agency, Circle R Group, handles general-market work. The client spent nearly $80 million on media between January and May, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
