Steve Chavez, the executive creative director for Buick at Leo Burnett Detroit, is taking over as the agency’s General Motors ecd. He replaces Peter McHugh, who is leaving the agency.

McHugh, who joined Burnett in 2007, said in a statement: “The Detroit office is in exceptionally good shape now, with a number of hires from the U.S. as well as from abroad, doing surprising, award-winning work across all media. So, the timing for me to take a break and tend to some outstanding family issues couldn’t be better.”
