Ogilvy & Mather in Chicago last week won Sanford’s $5 million Paper Mate account, the client said. The WPP shop bested two other finalists for the pen maker’s business, Chicago independents Tom, Dick & Harry and Fusion Idea Lab, sources said. The account had been at IPG’s McCann-Erickson in New York, which did not participate. Ogilvy’s first work is expected during the back-to-school season as Paper Mate prepares to introduce a number of new products.
