Overture to Provide NBC Paid-Placement Listings

NEW YORK Overture has struck a deal with NBC to provide commercial search results to NBC.com and BravoTV.com for a minimum of two years with the option to extend, the companies said.

The agreement calls for the Yahoo!-owned, Pasadena, Calif.-based subsidiary to provide paid-placement listings under a “Sponsored Listings” heading on relevant search-results pages on the NBC Internet properties. The listings are generated by Overture’s more than 100,000 advertisers who bid for placement on keywords relevant to their business.

The deal coincides with the introduction of a new search platform for NBC.com and BravoTV.com that will feature relevant NBC entertainment content, retail and media products and commerce opportunities.

Overture also offers paid-placement listings for other entertainment properties, including CNN and ESPN. Financial terms of the NBC agreement were not disclosed.
