DUBLIN, OHIO – Looking to promote the state globally, the Ohio Department of Development last week hired BSB/Leff & Squicciarini Advertising and Public Relations here to handle the $4.4 million account. The key was the promise of account-service support from Backer Spielvogel Bates offices in France, Belgium, Germany, Japan, The United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico and Hong Kong. The agency will create a campaign that includes broadcast, print, public relations and direct mail.
‘We really offered something no other agency in Ohio could offer, which is the flexibility of being able to work here with the Ohio Department of Development and tap into international offices instantly on an as-needed basis,’ said Myron Leff, BSB/L&S president.
It took over the account from Lord, Sullivan & Yoder/Columbus following a review that included 12 Ohio agencies. The account is reviewed bi-annually.
Part of the funding for the media placement comes from a unique co-op program, called First Frontier, with the state matching marketing dollars any Ohio county commits.
BSB/L&S also will work with GAP Productions of Cleveland, the state’s largest minority-owned public relations and advertising agency, to create programs tailored to assist female- and minority-owned businesses.
