Nike’s Knight Is Advertiser of the Year

NEW YORK Philip Knight, chairman and CEO of Nike, has been named Advertiser of the Year by the Cannes International Advertising Festival.

The award honors Nike’s contribution to creativity during the past 10 years, as well as the quality of the company’s advertising.

Nike has won the most awards at the Cannes Lions festival during the past five years, including two film Grand Prix for “Tag” last year and “Tennis,” “Golf” and “Running” in 1998.

Knight has been named Advertiser of the Year previously, in 1994. He will be presented with the trophy on June 21 in Cannes.
