My Brilliant Career

Over 700 students are expected to invade ad agencies across Southern California on Nov. 5 during the second annual Advertising Career Day.
The Western States Advertising Agencies Association and the Advertising Club of Los Angeles are hosting the event, which is intended to inform students about the opportunities in the ad industry.
The students, from large and small colleges alike, will tour two different shops each, and then join a reception at Tribune Studios in Hollywood, where they can network with industry professionals. Participating shops include TBWA/Chiat/Day, Campbell-Ewald/West, McCann-Erickson, Deutsch/LA, Ogilvy & Mather, The Phelps Group, Rubin Postaer and Associates and Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles.
Some of last year’s attendees are now interning or working full-time at agencies as a result of last year’s Career Day, said co-chair and WSAAA board member Gary Wenzel.
This year’s event is also co-sponsored by the Los Angeles Times and Western Initiative Media.
