Mullen Helps Introduce Film Festival

ATLANTA Mullen has created a new logo and provided marketing support for the RiverRun International Film Festival.

The logo, designed by the Interpublic Group agency’s Winston-Salem, N.C., office, is part of an integrated campaign to introduce the April 24-27 festival to the city.

The 5-year-old festival will showcase new independent, documentary, feature and short films. In addition, it will offer a range of panels, seminars and workshops in conjunction with the North Carolina School of the Arts.

Marketing includes a poster campaign launching this week. A form of the logo, created by Bill Starkey, Mullen art director and designer, and Joe Ski, an independent illustrator, will appear in an awards sculpture that will be presented to winning films.

“Marketing and advertising is the name of the game in the promotion of a film festival,” said Gennaro D’Onofrio, executive director for the festival. “Mullen’s generous sponsorship has helped tremendously in the transition of this festival to its new home in Winston-Salem.”

Previously, the festival was held in Brevard, N.C.
