NEW YORK Havas’ MPG has confirmed it has hired David Barrington as evp, managing director of video investments.

Barrington effectively replaces Bill McOwen, who left in the fall for a new post at Publicis Groupe’s Starcom in Los Angeles.

MPG had been in talks with Barrington since late last year before finalizing an agreement earlier this month.

Barrington’s job, however, is broader than McOwen’s, whose title was director of media investments at the time of his departure from MPG.
