NORTH CAROLINA
The Burris Agency in High Point designated Demetra Deriso media director. Deriso previously performed the same media role at Long Haymes Carr in Winston-Salem.
Stephanie Parrish, formerly at McKinney & Silver in Raleigh, was chosen art director by The Zimmerman Group in Durham.
Coyne Beahm in Colfax employed Jessica von Ammon as receptionist while she pursues a degree in advertising and graphic design at Guilford Technical Community College.
Turner Marketing Systems in Charlotte elected Charlie Boush president and Salim Abdul-Rahim vice president of operations. Boush has 26 years experience in TV broadcast sales and management and eight years as vice president of sales and operations at an agency. Abdul-Rahim’s spent 10 years at Mega Ventures in Southern California.
Greensboro-based King’s English hired art director Jonathan McLean, who held the same title at ALPZ in Greensboro, and copywriter/account executive Quinn Dalton, formerly community awareness coordinator at Reading Connections in Greensboro.
SOUTH CAROLINA
Julie Thompson stepped into the post of senior account manager at Leslie Public Relations in Greenville. Her experience includes five years as marketing manager and publicist for a Chicago publisher.
TENNESSEE
Charles Tombras Jr. recently received the Robert McCabe Silver Medal Award at the Knoxville Advertising Federation’s Addy awards competition. His father, Charles Tombras Sr., was awarded the same honor in 1985.
The Buntin Group in Nashville installed Angie Frederickson in the post of account executive. Frederickson joined the staff of Buntin from The Morrison Agency in Atlanta, where she held the same title.
Chandler, Ehrlich & Co. in Memphis welcomed Linda Lobb as art director. Lobb had been advertising manager at Wright Medical Technologies.
VIRGINIA
Douglas Symons became vice president of strategic planning at Barker Campbell Farley & Mansfield in Virginia Beach. Most recently, Symons was vice president of marketing at Virginia Beach-based International Family Entertainment.
CadmusCom in Richmond hired Steve Carter as media planner. Carter held the same position at his previous crosstown employer, Siddall, Matus & Coughter.
O’Connell Meier, a direct marketing, consulting and creative services company in Alexandria, added three senior staff members: copy chief and associate creative director Stephen Heller, director of account management Robyn Watson and senior art director and production manager Pamela Gates.
