Doremus promoted two top executives and tapped a former Digitas executive to serve as account director. Lou Rubin, formerly director of client services, is now chief marketing officer—a new position. In addition to pursuing new business, Rubin will seek to grow existing client relationships as the New York shop plays up its diverse offerings, said Carl Anderson, the CEO and president. Succeeding Rubin as director of client services is David Simpson, formerly senior management representative. Simpson joined the shop last year to manage the Corning account. The new account director is Sharyn Meaney, a former associate marketing director at Digitas in New York.
Gustavo Foldvari was named executive vice president, worldwide director of Mind & Mood and interna tional planning director at FCB in New York. Mind & Mood is the agency’s proprietary consumer-insight tool, developed in 1994. In his new position, Foldvari reports to Janet Pines, worldwide director, strategic planning and insight. She is based in New York; he will remain in Miami. Foldvari succeeds Ted Klauber, who becomes worldwide planning director on the agency’s estimated $400 million Samsung account. A native of Argentina, Foldvari was most recently regional director of planning and proprietary tools for FCB Latin America, where he helped win the worldwide New Zealand Milk account for FCB earlier this year.
Jami Opinsky was named advertising director for Vanity Fair magazine in New York. She succeeds J.D. Rehm, who was promoted to associate publisher in February. Opinsky joins Vanity Fair from Meredith Corp., where she most recently served as advertising director for Ladies’ Home Journal magazine.
Direct marketer Ii Communications, a Merkley Newman Harty & Partners company, promoted Larry Grewell to senior vice president, group account director. He was previously vice president/account director at Ii.
Bill Shaner was hired as associate publisher of Men’s Journal magazine in New York. He most recently worked as advertising director at Esquire magazine.
Cindy Berenson was named licensing manager, consumer products division, A&E Television Networks. Prior to joining the New York-based company, she spent the last 12 years at Gullane Entertainment (formerly The Britt Allcroft Co.).
Elizabeth Dorée joined WE: Women’s Entertainment in Jericho as vice president of program planning. She most recently worked as vice president of sales planning and program inventory for Warner Bros.
ComGroup promoted Jennifer Bottar to senior account executive in the public relations department. She previously served as an account executive in the department. ComGroup is headquartered in Atlanta; Bottar is based in the company’s Syracuse office.
Lisa Laemlein was named a senior account supervisor at Eric Mower and Associates; she is based in the agency’s Rochester office. Most recently, Laemlein worked as manager of client services and field integration at NetSetGo. In addition, Jennifer Ginley was promoted to director of public relations services at EMA’s Albany office; after interning with EMA during her senior year at Ithaca College, she worked at various agencies in the Midwest and Albany area before rejoining EMA in 1996 to help open the Albany outpost.
Winning Strategies Brand Communications named Patrick Bosak senior art director. Prior to joining the Mt. Laurel-based agency, he worked as an art director for The Star Group in Cherry Hill. In addition, Michelle Ebertz joined Winning Strategies as junior art director. She most recently was a freelance graphic artist for Beach Advertising.

Lloyd Harris was named production coordinator; he joins the shop from Route 22 Nissan in Hillside, where he was a sales representative. James Visco was appointed production manager; he previously was a production manager at Stein Rogan + Partners in New York. Lisa Schenkel arrived as a production supervisor; she for merly worked as a production consultant at Chillingworth/Radding in New York. Rob Adams was named senior art director, working on the AT&T Prepaid Phone Card account; he most recently served as a senior art director at the Sawtooth Group. Jaime Perez was hired as a senior account associate, working on the Labatt business; he previously was state manager at Next Generation Marketing in Manhasset, N.Y.
Lee Brody was promoted to vice president/director of corporate communications at MARC USA in Pittsburgh. He previously served as director of corporate communications.
Jane McCann joined Dudnyk Healthcare Group in Horsham as an account supervisor. She most recently worked as director of producer relations for Aetna in Blue Bell.
