NEW YORK
Bates USA, New York, has promoted Howard Courtemanche to executive vice president from senior vice president. Courtemanche oversees advertising for the consumer healthcare and Parke-Davis divisions of Warner-Lambert.
Ander Wensberg, a senior vice president at McCann-Erickson, has returned to New York after a five-year stint in the agency’s Detroit office. He will serve as a group director managing worldwide accounts. Wensberg had been a senior vice president, managing director on the Buick account.
HMC Advertising & Marketing, New York, has tapped Bernie Rosner, a former group creative director at Grey Advertising, for the new post of executive creative director.
Michael Elkisch has joined DeWitt Media, New York, as a regional account manager on its BMW of North America business. He most recently worked as a marketing consultant for companies such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Elkisch has also worked at New York agencies Ketchum Advertising and Grace & Rothschild.
Bruce Richards has joined TBWA Chiat/Day, New York, as a group account director. Previously, he was an account director at Deutsch on its Bank of America business. Richards has also worked at Foote, Cone & Belding and Chemical Bank.
Ann Hayden has been appointed chief executive officer of Saatchi & Saatchi Business Communications, Rochester. She had been vice chairwoman and chief executive officer.
FCB Direct, New York, has named Juhani Eistrat senior vice president, group managing director on the Lucent Technology Microelectronics direct marketing business. Eistrat had been global account director on FCB Direct Toronto’s IBM business.
George Perlov was tapped by the Advertising Council, New York, as vice president, director of planning and research. He comes from Lois/USA, where he was a senior account supervisor.
Condƒ Nast House & Garden, New York, has appointed William Wackermann as associate publisher, has elevated William Li to advertising manager and has tapped Carol Swirsky as marketing director.
Wackerman comes from Condƒ Nast Traveler, where he was advertising director. Swirsky was formerly at Meigher Communications, where she was marketing director of Garden Design and Saveur magazines.
Donaudy Munch Marketing Communications, Hauppauge, has promoted Linda Shea to management supervisor. She will help oversee the account staff and manage several accounts, including Cablevision Lightpath, General Semiconductor, Cedarhurst Paper and Wrap-N-Pack.
Dennis Reese was tapped by Next Generation Network, a Minneapolis-based electronic advertising company, as vice president, sales for the Eastern region.
USA Networks, New York, has named Richard Lynn vice president for business affairs and general counsel. He had been vice president, business affairs.
Gwen Weiss has been appointed account manager at Bon Appƒtit, New York. She will cover the prestige beauty category.
The Rƒmy Martin Brand Group, New York, has tapped Deborah Coffield as brand manager, ethnic marketing for Rƒmy Martin Fine Champagne Cognac. Coffield comes from Nike, where she served as marketing director, central region.
Men’s Journal, New York, has named John Mather fashion director. Mather comes from Esquire. The magazine also named Bob Yeager fashion editor.
Cablevision Systems, New York, has reported two appointments: Joseph Azznara as president of telecommunications services and Michael Bair as president of product management and marketing.
Money, New York, has broadened the role of publisher Geoffrey Dodge to include oversight of all business-side operations. The magazine also elevated Paul Francis to director of finance and operations.
Shape, New York, reported two appointments to its ad sales staff: Kristin Verno, formerly a sales development associate at People, joins as beauty manager and Agatha Donovan, formerly an account executive with Polo Ralph Lauren, comes aboard as an account manager.
Weider Publications, New York, reported several additions to its advertising sales department: Eric Schwarzkopf was promoted to national advertising director, Living Fit and Fit Pregnancy; Maureen Musgrove was hired as account manager, Fit Pregnancy; Beth Brandes was brought on as account manager, Living Fit; Dave Kupiec was tapped as national advertising director, Men’s Fitness; Chris Scardino comes aboard as account manager, Muscle & Fitness and Flex; and Christopher Graff was named account manager, Prime Health & Fitness.
Playboy has tapped Julia Steadman as youth marketing specialist. Based in New York, Steadman will also retain her duties as a senior copywriter with the magazine.
NBC Cable Networks, New York, has named Sheryl Feldinger director of ad sales research. She will be responsible for supporting the advertising sales teams for both CNBC and MSNBC.
Joyce Parente has been promoted to marketing services director by Wenner Media, New York. Most recently Wenner’s sales services director, Parente will be responsible for developing all sales and marketing materials for Us, Men’s Journal and Rolling Stone.
Boxtree Communications in New York has named Debra Schwartz to the post of account executive.
General Media Communications International, New York, reported three moves on its advertising staff: Bruce Garfinkel was promoted to vice president, group publisher of Penthouse; Denis Snow was named national advertising director, General Media Automotive Group; and Bernice Sanders was named director of trade relations for the automotive group.
K2 Design, New York, has named John Givens senior creative director. He leaves a similar post at Intermart, Tokyo.

NEW JERSEY
Gerry Skiba has joined Triad, a Fairfield-based designer of direct mail, sales aids and packaging, as a new business account executive.
Vision Graphics, Morristown, has hired Dan Weaver as creative director. Weaver had been vice president, creative director of Alcone Marketing. Desireƒ Martin del Campo also joins Vision as an account coordinator.

PENNSYLVANIA
Ketchum Advertising, Pittsburgh, has reported two promotions: Joanne Felice was elevated to senior vice president, director of finance from vice president, controller; and Walter Bown was elevated to senior vice president, director of operations from vice president, account supervisor.
Rodale Press, Emmaus, has elevated Joyceann Shirer to senior consumer marketing director director, Men’s Health. Shirer had served as circulation director of the magazine.
Deborah Drake was promoted to associate media director from senior media planner by Steigler, Wells & Brunswick in Bethlehem.
The St. George Group, a Pittsburgh-based marketing communications firm, has named S. Colleen Hall account executive, database and direct marketing.
