McCann-Erickson, New York, has promoted Nina DiSesa to chairman, chief creative officer from executive vice president, executive creative director and Eric Keshin to executive vice president, chief operating officer from executive vice president, director of account services. Both report to Donald Dillon, president of McCann-Erickson North America. The promotions are intended to reduce Dillon’s operational responsibilities in New York.
Seven staff members were promoted to vice president at Bates USA in New York: Kurt Carstensen, media supervisor; Bridget Crudo, associate research director; Don Hue, assistant controller; Rob Loser, payroll manager; Mike Rutstein, account supervisor; Dianna Sadowski, assistant controller; and Kathleen Valente, account supervisor.
Cliff Freeman and Partners, New York, added four creative staffers to its team: Dan Morales joins the agency from Black Rocket; Steve Doppelt arrives from Lowe & Partners/SMS; Jason Gabariau comes to the firm from Berlin Cameron & Partners; and Rob Carducci joins the agency from DeVito/Verdi.
Stuart D’Rozario has joined Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, New York, as group creative director. He was vice president, associate creative director at Arnold Communications in Boston, where he worked on Volkswagen and Bell Atlantic.
Tina Georgeou was promoted to president at DeWitt Media in New York. She had been chair of the agency’s management committee. Prior to joining the agency, Georgeou was executive vice president and managing director of business development at Ammirati Puris Lintas.
Linda Watson was named management supervisor on the Toyota Corporate Motor Services account at Oasis, New York. She was most recently an account supervisor at Doig, Elliot, Schur.
The Attik, New York, named Bradley Kay director of business development and account services. He comes from Merkley Newman Harty, where he was a business strategy consultant working on BellSouth.
Colleen Melvin was tapped by Sage Marketing Communications, Syracuse, as an art director. She held the same post at two other upstate shops.
Mark Russell & Associates, Syracuse, promoted two staffers and added another. Steve Mars was named vice president, marketing for Madison Square Garden Networks, New York. Previously director, on-air promotion at SportsChannel New York, he will handle marketing for MSG and Fox Sports New York.
John Fennell was named executive vice president, chief operating officer at Hachette Filipacchi Magazines, New York. He was previously senior vice president, chief operating officer of HFM. He had worked at Woman’s Day for more than 20 years.
Catalyst Direct, Rochester, has reported two hires and three promotions. Brad Patterson joined the firm as production manager from Monroe Graphics and Diane Andrews, formerly of Finger Lakes Long Term Care Insurance, was named account director. Also, Bob Bailey was elevated to senior account executive, Mary Bonaccio advanced to director, strategic planning and Kevin Schroer moved up to creative director.
Laura Sullivan has been named senior director, marketing by Sony Wonder in New York. Formerly senior director, children’s marketing at PolyGram video, she will market the Sesame Street line of videotapes as well as Sony Wonder/Sunbow properties released on home video.
Chris Magdelain was named senior designer by LPNYThink, a corporate identity firm in New York. He held the same post at HydraWeb Technologies.
Court TV, New York, has promoted Gig Barton to executive vice president, advertising sales. He joined the network in 1993 as manager, East Coast sales.
P.O.V., New York, promoted longtime advertising director Jay Goldberg to associate publisher. The magazine also hired Brian Carrigan as national sales manager; he was previously advertising manager of Soap Opera Magazine and Soap Opera News.
Kevin Paradis was appointed vice president, Eastern sales at United Stations Radio Networks in New York.
He had been account manager for the Weather Channel.
Risa Amy Aronson was named consumer products manager at Mademoiselle. She joined the magazine from Shape, where she was an account manager. Vildia Samaniego was also tapped as marketing director. She was senior director, media and communications at Claritas Precision Marketing Group.
Soap Opera Digest, New York, has appointed Lesley Miller account executive. She was most recently account executive, real estate sales at the Wall Street Journal.
People, New York, named Kevin White Eastern advertising director. He joined the magazine in 1992 as a sales representative. Karen Kovacs replaces White as division ad sales manager. She came to People from Ogilvy & Mather in 1994. Nancy Freedman was named to the new posit of promotion director. She joined People in 1994 as promotion copy chief.
Alison Matz was hired as associate publisher of Us, New York. She came to the magazine from Meredith Corp., where she worked as advertising director for Country Home Magazine, Country Gardens and Country Home special-interest publications.
Health promoted two members of its advertising sales team. Gayle Lambert advanced to Eastern manager from Midwest manager, and Ellen Gennaro moved up to Western manager from West Coast manager.
Dale Solov Saffar was appointed director of fashion retail sales at Bride’s, New York. She joined the magazine from Weddingpages, publishers of Bride and Home and the Wedding Pages planner.
Alan Tracey, advertising director of Continental, White Plains, has added the title of associate publisher. He is also a vice president, sales executive with the Sales Management Group, White Plains.
Dugan/Farley Communications in Upper Saddle River, a unit of Bozell Wellness Worldwide, added two staffers: Bethanne Toci , formerly of Thomas Ferguson Associates, joined the agency as group copy supervisor and Sandy Gubin, most recently of BSA Advertising, was tapped as senior art director.
Five staffers joined the Sawtooth Group, Woodbridge: Veronica Lucas-Derwey was hired as a graphic artist after working for Electronic Color Imaging; Drew Schinderman, formerly with Northeast Sales & Service Catherine Jane McKenzie, who joined the agency from Church & Dwight; and Maria Millan were tapped as account coordinators. J. Brown/LMC Group, Stamford, appointed Dana Lamb senior account executive in the solutions marketing division. She was director of marketing at Breugger’s Bagels in New York.
Tom Lantz joined Relationship Marketing Group in Fairfield as executive vice president, sales. He was vice president, sales at Madison Direct Marketing in Greenwich.
