Missouri Tourism to Hoffman/Lewis

CHICAGO Hoffman/Lewis has unseated MMG Worldwide to win the Missouri Division of Tourism contract, the agency said today.

“The evaluation team members who reviewed the responses were impressed by this company’s vast experience and the expertise of the people proposed for our account,” said Missouri tourism director Blaine Luetkemeyer. “We are excited by Hoffman/Lewis’ creative concepts for promoting Missouri and see great potential for their use in upcoming campaigns.”

Hoffman/Lewis maintains offices in St. Louis and San Francisco and has been in business since 1985. Its major Missouri clients include McDonald’s, Windstream Yellow Pages and Ashley Furniture HomeStore. Its personnel have also worked on assignments for the state of Texas and the Australian and Mexican tourism commissions.

Missouri spends about $3 million annually on tourism ads. Its most recent work, which debuted a year ago, was tagged “VisitMo.” That effort strove to drive traffic to the state’s tourism Web site.

MMG in Kansas City, Mo., had handled the business since 2000. All told, seven agencies submitted bids for the contract in the latest review.
