Mini Hires Hasan to Guide Review

NEW YORK Consultancy Hasan + Co. in Raleigh, N.C., has been hired by BMW’s Mini Cooper to oversee the review of its ad account, the client has confirmed.

Mini Cooper spends about $25 million annually on ads.

MDC Partners’ Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami resigned the Mini to take on the estimated $400 million Volkswagen of America business [Adweek Online, Sept. 6].

Hasan + Co., which just completed handling Lowe’s $315 million review, could not be reached for comment.

A Mini Cooper representative said three other consultancies—Boston-based Pile and Co. and New York’s AAR and Roth Associates—were also considered for the assignment.

Mini Cooper executives will meet with Hasan + Co. this week to determine when proposal requests would be issued, the rep said.

CP+B was awarded VW’s U.S. and Canadian creative chores without a review. The agency takes over on the business in December from Havas’ Arnold in Boston, which has handled VW for 10 years.
