Microsoft Names Sievert to Deliver Next Windows

NEW YORK Microsoft has named Michael Sievert corporate vice president for Windows product management. Sievert had been evp and CMO for AT&T Wireless Services since 2002; prior to that, he was evp and chief global marketing and sales officer at E*Trade.

The Redmond, Wash.-based firm said Sievert would be responsible for marketing, management and planning on products such as the next version of Microsoft Windows, code-named “Longhorn,” slated for release in 2006.

Sievert replaces Tom Button, who has been on a leave of absence due to family medical reasons.
