Mediaedge:cia Shares Software Account

SAN FRANCISCO WWP Group’s SicolaMartin has won the estimated $4 million Sybase global marketing and creative account, the agency said today.

SicolaMartin, based in Austin, Texas, will employ the global media services capabilities of WPP network partner Mediaedge:cia in San Francisco on the Sybase business, an agency representative said.

“Sybase’s leadership team and marketing acumen stand out in the technology arena,” said Tom Sicola, president and CEO of SicolaMartin. “We’re looking forward to helping Sybase further its unwired enterprise message while raising the awareness of its information management, mobile and wireless solutions.”

The account went to SicolaMartin last week following a review, according to the agency. Further details about the competition were not available.

Sybase in Dublin, Calif., is a software vendor whose competition includes Oracle, IBM, Microsoft and NCR.

The company spent $3 million on advertising last year and $6 million in 2003, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
