McAnallen Jumps to Ad Savants

Veteran St. Louis adman Ray McAnallen has assumed the top creative post at Advertising Savants.
McAnallen joins the agency from The Schupp Co. in St. Louis, where he was a vice president and head creative. Prior to that, he spent many years as a creative director at D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in town, producing work for clients including Anheuser-Busch and Southwestern Bell. McAnallen also worked at the former Tracy Locke in Dallas.
At Advertising Savants, he replaces Donna Hagerty-Payne, who left the agency to pursue motherhood full-time.
McAnallen said he’s eager to join the fray of small creative shops who are fighting it out for a piece of the action in the Gateway City. Those shops include Veritas, Core and Rodgers Townsend.
“The competition has really picked up among the small to medium-sized shops,” McAnallen said. “There’s not a hack shop in the bunch.”
Advertising Savant’s clients include Commerce Bancshares, Saint Louis University and Crown Therapeutics.
