Mason & Madison Ranks Among PR Gainers

BOSTON Mason & Madison, Manning Selvage & Lee and Cone have all added notable public relations assignments in recent weeks.

New Haven, Conn.-based Mason, an independent shop, has added PR chores for Bruegger’s Enterprises of Burlington, Vt., which operates 250 bagel shops in 18 states. “They’re a company that understands the connection between consumer emotion and long-term loyalty,” said James Grecco, client chief executive, of Mason’s appointment.

The Boston office of indie MS&L has been tapped by Standard Microsystems in Hauppauge, N.Y., a global supplier of semiconductors to computer makers worldwide, and Genalytics of Newburyport, Mass., a developer of predictive modeling software. The wins help improve the shop’s position as the technology sector starts to rebound, said Marie van Luling, agency managing director.

Also, Boston-based Cone, a unit of Omnicom Group, will provide media relations for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Lemelson-MIT Program, which endeavors to aid young inventors nationwide.
