Lucas Rejoins Interbrand as Group Director

BOSTON Scott Lucas has returned to Interbrand as group director of its New York packaging division.

In his new role at the Omnicom Group brand consultancy, Lucas will work closely with managing director Steven Wright in overseeing account work and relationship management for the 12-person packaging team. Wright, to whom Lucas directly reports, had previously held the title of group director before transitioning into the managing director’s role over the past couple of months.

Clients of the packaging group at Interbrand include Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Tropicana and Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Lucas rejoins Interbrand after a two-year stint at New York branding firm Mittleman/Robinson, where he implemented packaging strategies for clients such as Unilever, Diageo and Gillette. Before Mittleman/Robinson, he headed up his own design firm, 4Points Creative, and from 1996 to 2000 served in business development roles at Interbrand precursor Gerstman + Meyers.

Lucas said he was excited about returning to Interbrand. “It’s a tremendous opportunity—I’ve always had high regard for its work,” he said, adding his main goal is to not only to make the packaging business more profitable, but also “as functional, efficient and fun as possible.”
