Lotito Leaving Initiative

LOS ANGELES–Mike Lotito, president and coo of Initiative Media North America, is leaving the Interpublic Group of Cos. media agency at the end of this month for an undisclosed post within Interpublic.

Barry Linsky, executive vice president of planning and business development for Interpublic, characterized Lotito’s assignment as “an important new business development venture.”

“Mike has done a terrific job in every challenge put in front of him.” Linsky said. “This takes advantage of his ability to make things happen.”

Lotito, 40, joined what was then called Western Initiative Media in the spring of 1999 as chief operating officer after 12 years in media and account positions at Ammirati Puris Lintas. He became president of the U.S. media network in early 2000, after Lou Schultz, CEO of Initiative Media North America, became chairman of Initiative Media Worldwide.

“Mike brought an incredible talent, and during 1999 to 2000, before I got to Initiative,” said Schultz, “he had a very tough job to do, and did an excellent job restructuring.”
