Kirshenbaum’s Ryan Heads to JWT

NEW YORK Rosemarie Ryan, president of Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners since 1995, has accepted an offer to become the next president of J. Walter Thompson’s office here, JWT has confirmed.

Ryan, 40, will join the WPP Group agency on Jan. 1 and report to North American president Bob Jeffrey, who becomes worldwide chief executive next year.

The post has been vacant since early 2001, when Jeffrey advanced to oversee North America. Jeffrey, 50, had been talking to candidates for the slot since January.

Kirshenbaum will promote from within to fill Ryan’s position, the agency said. Effectively immediately, managing partner Aaron Reitkopf becomes president of the New York office, co-ecd Rob Feakins adds the title of chairman for the agency’s broader creative network and network CFO Stephen Fick becomes network COO.
