Kipnis Gets a New Role at Ogilvy

NEW YORK OgilvyOne New York co-managing director Harvey Kipnis has risen to the new role of chief growth officer at Ogilvy North America, the WPP Group agency said.

Kipnis, 52, will focus on expanding relationships with existing clients by offering the services of the shop’s various subsidiaries, including OgilvyInteractive, OgilvyAction, Ogilvy Public Relations and Ogilvy Healthworld, an agency representative said.

Previously, Kipnis helped lead the combined operations of OgilvyOne and Ogilvy & Mather here, along with OgilvyOne co-managing director Michelle Bottomley and agency managing director Andy Berndt.

With Kipnis’ promotion, Bottomley and Berndt have become co-presidents of New York operations. All three executives continue to report to Bill Gray and Carla Hendra, co-CEOs of Ogilvy North America.

Berndt, 40, joined Ogilvy nine years ago as a group creative director and became managing director in April 2006. Bottomley, 42, joined OgilvyOne in 1998 and rose to managing director in February 2006, the same time as Kipnis, who joined OgilvyOne in 2003.
