Jim Rose Named Media Planning Group CEO

NEW YORK — Jim Rose, most recently an executive at an e-commerce company, has been named CEO of Havas’ Media Planning Group USA.

Rose succeeds Antoni Rossich, who stepped into the position in November following the departure of Steve Farella.

Prior to joining MPG USA, Mr. Rose was CEO at QXL Ricardo PLC, a leading Pan European e-commerce company operating in 12 countries including the US. Rose has also served as chief executive of United Information Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of United News & Media, a business-to-business publisher. Before that, he spent six years working for AC Nielsen.

The shop, which has $2.6 billion in billings, has made a number of personnel changes in the past three months. It recently named John Gaffney, the former president of arnoldMPG, to the newly created post of COO. In March, Bob Riordan was hired to direct national broadcast buying, filling a job that had been vacant for a year.
