BOSTON Steve Francisco has been named CEO of Jager Di Paola Kemp Design, an independently owned 100-person shop. The chief executive title had not been in use at the agency.

He will report to company owners Michael and Giovanna Jager and David Kemp. JDK is headquartered in Burlington, Vt., with offices in New York and Portland, Ore.

Francisco, 33, was most recently managing director at JDK.

Michael Jager, JDK president and cd, said, “I have worked shoulder to shoulder with Steve for many years and have enormous respect for his talent, energy and judgment. Steve is perfectly suited to lead JDK into a bright future.”

Francisco added, “JDK is one of the world’s leading design firms with a culture that is fully committed to expanding the boundaries of design. Our mission remains constant and I look forward to helping the firm to become even better and more successful.”

Francisco first joined JDK in 1997 as a designer. He left for Toth Brand Imaging in Cambridge, Mass., where he worked as an art director, returning to JDK in 2001. He has served as managing director since 2006.

JDK handles brand strategy, product design, identity, packaging, visual merchandising, advertising, Web sites, marketing collateral, and branded environments or a mix of consumer and business clients.
