Irma S. Mann Hires Zumstein As Media Chief

Trish Zumstein has joined Irma S. Mann, Strategic Marketing as media director.
She succeeds Lois Bell, who left the 70-person Boston agency several months ago to pursue other interests. Kathy Murphy, the shop’s manager of centralized advertising programs, had served as interim media director.
Zumstein has worked in Honolulu for the past five years, most recently as an account planner at MVNP/DDB Needham, where she handled clients such as Aloha Airlines and Sheraton Hotels. She also served as director of communications at ITT Sheraton in Honolulu.
That background should serve her well at Irma S. Mann, which specializes in travel and hospitality accounts, Zumstein said. Her experience as an account planner and a communications director also gives her a rounded background in integrated marketing, said Gary Leopold, president of Irma S. Mann.
During the late ’80s and early ’90s, Zumstein was with CC and D Communications (then Cosmopulos, Crowley & Daly) in Boston, where she rose to vice president and media director. Her ties to former CC and D co-worker Mario Lucca, now chief financial officer at Irma S. Mann, helped pave the way for her recent hiring, she said.
“She’s a real pro,” said CC and D president Peter Kostopoulos. “She has a strategic mind” and the experience to succeed at her new post.
Irma S. Mann looked at more than a dozen candidates before making a decision, Leopold added.
Zumstein oversees the shop’s seven-person media department, which handles planning and placement for accounts such as the Islands of the Bahamas, a longtime client, and recent additions such as the Massachusetts Port Authority and Sonesta International Hotels.
