IAB Requests Feedback on Rich Media Standards

NEW YORK The Interactive Advertising Bureau is seeking feedback from the interactive ad industry on its Rich Media Guidelines Version 2.0 Phase 1, a suite of recommended specifications for in-page rich media units.

The proposed rich media guidelines, which are based on six months of research, update existing parameters set by the IAB in August 2001, and address in-page ads that include and/or combine motion and interactivity. Agencies, marketers and other key industry stakeholders can obtain more information and complete the feedback survey at www.iab.net/standards/richmediafeedback.asp.

The guidelines are meant to allow advertisers to distribute rich media units across leading Web properties without having to modify them for each online publisher. Phase 2 of the guidelines will address other rich media ad units, including audio and video, off-page and rollover units.
