Davidandgoliath Seeking Media Partner

LOS ANGELES—Having used a variety of media shops in the past, davidandgoliath is in the process of creating an ongoing partnership arrangement. The agency, which handles Kia Motors America, added Outback Steakhouse and Papa Murphy’s Pizza over the past year. The agency’s president, Skip Sullivan, confirmed that the shop is holding discussions with “some of the premier media shops in the country,” but declined further comment.

3 Agencies Join Worldwide Partners

LOS ANGELES—Imageads Communications & Marketing of Mumbai, India; Grupo Zapping Comunicacion of Madrid, Spain; and Vox Populi of Vilnius, Lithuania, have all become shareholders in Denver-based agency network Worldwide Partners. Imageads offers corporate communications and PR and works with Sony Electronics, Onkyo Electronics and Gold’s Gym. Grupo Zapping handles ads for Walt Disney Internacional, Alitalia and the Spanish Ministry of Culture. Vox Populi offers business-to-business marketing, Web development, event management and community relations. Its clients include Motorola, Nycomed and VNG/Stadtwerke Leipzig.

Marshall Taps Kanegae for Yamaha

LOS ANGELES—Marshall Advertising & Design has hired Dennis Kanegae as management supervisor on the $30 million Yamaha Motorsports account. In the newly created position, Kanegae reports to Diana Marshall, principal of the Costa Mesa, Calif., shop. He will oversee two account-services employees and be involved with all Yamaha products, including motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles. Kanegae was most recently an account supervisor on Honda’s interactive account at Rubin Postaer and Associates in Santa Monica, Calif.

Duncan/Channon Adds Health Account

SAN FRANCISCO—Duncan/Channon here has won the St. Helena Center for Health ad account, agency executives said. The agency will launch the center’s “executive health program,” which will offer comprehensive health assessments. The program, based at the center’s headquarters in Napa Valley in Northern California, will kick off in early 2003. Billings were not disclosed.

Inter/Media Breaks Miracle Diet Campaign

LOS ANGELES—Inter/Media has crafted a series of seasonal direct response TV campaigns for Los Angeles-based Sunset Health Products’ Hollywood 48-Hour Miracle Diet. Spending is $15 million over the course of the next year. One TV spot from the Encino, Calif.-based shop breaks Dec. 2 on syndicated properties and national cable networks. It shows Santa Claus with a “six-pack” stomach due to the miracle diet and claims consumers can lose up to 10 pounds in 48 hours.

Kruger Group Opens to Service Home Builders

LOS ANGELES—The Kruger Group has opened in Los Angeles. The full-service shop, which is led by Larry Kruger, specializes in the homebuilding industry. It is currently working with Kruger’s former employer, Ashton Woods Homes.
