Bromley, Aguilar Gets Continental Work
DALLAS-Continental Airlines in Houston and lead agency N.W. Ayer & Partners, New York, have decided to shift the carrier’s U.S. Hispanic, Latin American and Caribbean advertising to Bromley, Aguilar & Associates in San Antonio. Ayer confirmed the move last week. The business has been handled by del Rivero Messianu, Coral Gables, Fla., since 1994. Billings were undisclosed, but a source said the airline has spent more than $5 million in those markets in the past. Bromley, Aguilar has handled U.S. Hispanic work for American Airlines for more than nine years, but it will resign that business to take on the new assignment, a source said. Ayer was awarded Continental Airlines’ estimated $50 million global advertising account in August.
Saitow Joins Ryan Partnership in Dallas
DALLAS-Patti Saitow was named managing director of Ryan Partnership’s Dallas office, overseeing promotional activities for clients Sprint and Dannon. Saitow, formerly of Powerhouse Entertainment here, will also work on new business and manage Ryan’s national and regional field assignments in Dallas. “Patti’s hands-on approach meshes superbly with Ryan’s management philosophy,” said Ryan vice president Dave Williams, who heads the Dallas office. Ryan is based in Westport, Conn.
4 Finalists Vie for La. Casino Association
NEW ORLEANS-Four New Orleans agencies are finalists for a public relations account in review for the new Casino Association of Louisiana, based in Baton Rouge. Ten agencies responded to the requests for proposals, which were sent out earlier this month. The finalists are: Bernard & Jurisich, Montgomery Stire and Partners, Logan Marketing and The Ehrhardt Group. No budget has been set for the account, but industry observers estimate it will amount to between $500,000 and $1 million. A decision is expected early next month.
Beretta Assigns Store Opening to Knape
DALLAS-Dallas shop Knape was hired to handle the local store opening of Beretta Gallery, the retail apparel group of the 471-year-old Italian firearms manufacturer. Beretta is opening the retail location next month in Highland Park Village. The store opening assignment will be followed by a creative print campaign early next year promoting the Beretta brand. Billings on the account were undisclosed.
M2K Launches Interactive Division
DALLAS-M2K, an Austin, Texas, advertising firm, is formalizing a department to focus on interactive marketing. The decision came after the successful performance of new media assignments for local clients like the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, Hitachi Data Systems and CSE, which collects past-due child support payments.
