BBDO Connects With Cox Communications
ATLANTA–BBDO South here has won the creative account of Cox Communications, also in Atlanta. Sources confirmed the shop was selected for the estimated $3 million account over Atlanta’s Match and Lewis Advertising, Nashville, Tenn. Cox vice president of marketing Virginia Gray could not be reached at press time, and BBDO officials declined comment.
Richardson Lands Lincoln Financial Direct
ATLANTA–Richardson, Myers & Donofrio in Baltimore won Lincoln Financial Direct’s Internet account last week. Other contenders included Adworks of Washington, D.C., and CadmusCom in Richmond, Va.
Crispin, EAI, Fitzgerald Score at ShowSouth
ATLANTA–Crispin Porter & Bogusky of Miami won best of show for its Florida Anti-Tobacco TV campaign and nine gold awards at the Creative Club of Atlanta’s ShowSouth ’98. EAI of Atlanta claimed the best graphic design honor for its Utopia Paper brochure, plus three golds. Other winners included Fitzgerald & Co. with four golds, Frogfire Digital’s gold and silver in the interactive category, and Bryan Deutsch and Alison Forsyth of Creative Circus for top student campaign. The show was sponsored by Adweek, iXL and Seven Worldwide.
Fernandez Adds Name to Turner & Turner
ATLANTA–Turner & Turner Communications here last week said it would change its name to Turner Fernandez Turner. The change reflects the contributions of partner and creative director Rudy Fernandez.
Cooper HMS Media Director Dies
DALLAS–Lynne Christopher died of complications from surgery Nov. 27 at Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She was 49. Christopher, who was executive vice president and executive media director at Miami’s Cooper HMS, had formerly worked at Temerlin McClain in Irving, Texas; The Bloom Agency (now Publicis) in Dallas; and David Cravit & Associates Advertising in Chicago. She was buried Dec. 3 in her hometown of Marshall, Mo.
Adweek Wants Only the Best TV Spots
