Hill, Holliday Moves Up in Pitches

BOSTON-Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos is in the final rounds of reviews that could add more than $85 million to its coffers.
The Boston-based shop last week was named one of four finalists in a review being conducted by Priceline.com just days after learning it had advanced to the final round of a contest being conducted by Progressive Insurance in Cleveland.
For the $70 million Progressive account, Hill, Holliday will battle Doner in Southfield, Mich., and Foote, Cone & Belding in Chicago. The incumbent is Arnell Brand Consulting Group, New York.
In the $15 million Priceline.com competition, Hill, Holliday will stage its final presentation before a former employee of the shop. Jord Poster, a onetime account executive, is now senior vice president of strategic planning at the Stamford, Conn.-based Internet company, which recently went public.
Hill, Holliday is competing for the business against Wieden & Kennedy, Merkley Newman Harty and Cliff Freeman and Partners, all New York.
Each finalist will be given what Poster described as a straighforward strategic assignment to be worked on over the next three weeks. “We want to simulate working together and make sure there is a healthy and good fit.” Priceline.com had been handled by Heater Advertising in Boston.
