Heinz’ Pet Foods Review Down to 3

NEW YORK–H.J. Heinz Co. has narrowed its search for an agency to handle $10-15 million in pet-food brands to three: Element 79 in Chicago, Doner in Southfield, Mich., and Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis, sources said.
Each will pitch creative concepts to the client in mid-September, said sources. A decision is expected shortly thereafter.
Four other shops did not advance: Suissa Miller in Los Angeles, Arnold McGrath in New York, The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., and D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in New York, according to sources.
The brands in play include 9 Lives and Kibbles ‘n Bits. New York consultancy Roth Associates is managing the search.
