Hacker Uses McDonald's Corporate Twitter Account to Call Trump 'Disgusting'

Swiftly deleted, the tweet is still sparking boycott threats

This morning, the McDonald’s corporate Twitter account (@McDonaldsCorp) was hacked to publish a tweet calling Donald Trump “a disgusting excuse for a president.”

The brand has since confirmed to Adweek and via Twitter that the post—which was also briefly pinned to the top of the brand’s feed—was made by a hacker who secured access to the corporate account (which, at 151,000 followers, is far smaller in reach than McDonald’s main @McDonalds account, with 3.4 million followers).
