Gotham has hired freelance broadcast producer Letitia Jacobs to assume the new position of head of content.
Jacobs, 38, will manage the 16 staffers in the Interpublic Group shop’s production department. She’ll also serve as a partner to chief creative officer Marty Orzio.
“Letitia has all the taste and passion for production details one could ask for,” said Orzio, to whom she reports. “She has unbelievable leadership skills to evolve a nurturing culture and she has great relationships within the production community.”
In her seven years of freelancing, she has worked for agencies such as The Martin Agency, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Mother and most recently mcgarrybowen (on the November launch campaign behind Verizon’s Droid phone). Other brand experience includes Miller, Axe, Burger King and Volkswagen.
Orzio previously oversaw Gotham’s production department, which works across all media channels, including broadcast, digital and mobile. Key agency clients include Maybelline, Best Western, Sony Ericsson, Hitachi America and Yellowbook.com. The New York shop was a finalist for the $275 million Pizza Hut account, which was awarded today to The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va.
Letitia, who started this week, said she looked forward to “expanding, exposing and further integrating [the shop’s] vibrant creative environment. The new production chief also becomes the agency’s 10th managing partner.
Before freelancing, Letitia was a broadcast producer at Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners in New York and a broadcast assistant producer at Mad Dogs & Englishmen in New York.
