Good Housekeeping Needs Shop to Help With the Ad Chores

Good Housekeeping magazine is talking to 6 or 7 shops around the country about its national advertising account.
Pat Haegele, publisher of the Hearst Magazines title, confirmed last week that she has met with a number of U.S. agencies.
Incumbent Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor in New York has been invited to defend the account, which has been inactive recently. The initial list will be cut to around three finalists with a decision in September, said Haegele.
The publication is planning a major ad push this fall for its Good Housekeeping Seal, a staple since 1909. “(Good Housekeeping) is not just a magazine,” said Haegele. “It’s the magazine, the Institute and the Seal.”
Haegele declined to name any of the agencies she is considering. –Michael McCarthy
