Glenora Wine Selects Stand Advertising

BOSTON Stand Advertising said it has won advertising and marketing chores on Glenora Wine Cellars following a review.

The work from the independent shop in Amherst, N.Y., will include interactive ads, Web site development, direct mail, packaging and point-of-purchase efforts. The initiative breaks this summer.

Initial promotional spending will be in the six-figure range.

The goal is to introduce Glenora’s first distribution outside New York State. The client is based in Dundee, N.Y., and had no previous lead agency. Other review contenders were not disclosed.

Stand CEO Janet Barnes said, “Glenora is a strong but underappreciated Finger Lakes label, ready to break from its current Ne York State-only status onto the preferred list of the Northeastern wine aficionado. As marketers, it is always exciting for us to help lead a client’s business to its next strategic level.”

Located on Seneca Lake, Glenora was founded in 1977 and produces champagnes and premium table wines. The winery also features a retail store, an inn and a restaurant.

Stand handles online and offline efforts for a mix of consumer and business clients. Other accounts include ECMC, Fairgrounds Gaming & Raceway and Perry’s Ice Cream.
