A new outdoor campaign by Sherry Matthews Advertising & Public Relations aims to reach holiday drivers before too much good cheer gets the best of them.
The Austin, Texas, agency this week unveils a statewide billboard effort for the Texas Department of Transportation’s traffic safety division reminding motorists not to drink and drive.
The boards feature retro snowflakes surrounding cartoonish type that reads: “Santa is coming to town. Please don’t hit him.”
The straightforward appeal, which includes a “Don’t drink and drive” tagline, will appear on 25 billboards in major markets across the state.
The shop also designed decals to be placed on beer and wine refrigerator doors at convenience stores statewide, according to agency representative Robert Nash.
Sherry Matthews picked up the Texas Department of Transportation’s traffic safety account earlier this year.
