Finalists Face the Music and Plasma TVs

LOS ANGELES Finalists have emerged for Pioneer Electronics’ home entertainment division account, sources said.

The contenders include Omnicom’s BBDO West in San Francisco and Los Angeles, which is the incumbent, independents DGWB in Santa Ana, Calif., and Rubin Postaer and Associates in Santa Monica, Calif., and WPP’s Krueger in Torrance, Calif., according to sources. Agency officials either could not be reached or declined comment.

The review includes creative and media duties. Billings were undisclosed. Current spending for the division is estimated at $8 million. That figure could increase to $12-15 million, with the primary focus on Pioneer’s plasma televisions, sources said.

Representatives for the client in Long Beach, Calif., declined comment.

Pioneer is expected to select an agency in late June or early July.
