LONDON Havas’ Euro RSCG has elevated chief strategy officer Russ Lidstone to CEO of its 175-person London offfice.
After three years leading strategy, Lidstone (pictured) served as the acting London CEO since the departure of Mark Cadman in December.
In his tenure at the shop, Lidstone is credited with helping drive new-business scores like the global Chivas Regal win last year. David Jones, CEO of Euro RSCG Worldwide, said in a statement: “Russ is a real star and has been from day one. Over the past few months he has shown himself to be a natural leader and great CEO material for our London agency.”
Lidstone began his career at Coca-Cola before switching to planning roles at shops such as Butterfield Day Devito Hockney, HHCL and Lowe. At the latter, an Interpublic Group shop, he led planning and strategy on the giant Tesco supermarket account. Immediately prior to Euro RSCG, he had been planning chief at JWT.
Lidstone said he looked forward to his new role at a network that remains “entrepreneurial” in spirit despite its global footprint.
