QuoteShip Sales In as TradeOut Departs
BOSTON–Greco Ethridge Group added an online shipping firm to its roster last week shortly after parting with a showpiece Internet account.
The shop, which maintains offices here and in New York, has been named the first agency of record for QuoteShip.com, which intends to spend $5-7 million on marketing and promotions in the next 12 months. The Boston client developed a Web site that allows global air, land and sea transport providers to bid on cargo shipments.
The win comes two weeks after the agency ended its relationship with TradeOut.com, Ardsley, N.Y., an online service for firms seeking to buy and sell excess inventory and other assets.
TradeOut placed its estimated $15-20 million business with Greco Ethridge eight months ago. Following a $22 million infusion of capital from eBay and other investors, TradeOut’s work with Greco Ethridge dwindled and the client began seeking a new agency [Adweek, Nov. 22]. The firm has moved its account to Gotham, New York.
For QuoteShip, Greco Ethridge will craft a corporate identity and create advertising, collateral materials and online executions and will oversee media placement, said agency representative Paul Marobella. Companies sending or receiving large cargo shipments and carrier firms will be the principal marketing targets. The campaign will break mainly in vertical trade journals and some mainstream business magazines within the next 30-45 days, said Marobella. K
