Cup Of Joe And Ads To Go

A new type of outdoor advertising is brewing on 100 street corners in New York.
Brilliant Image Outdoor, New York, is hoping coffee carts (shown here) will be the new media vehicle of choice for marketers who want to reach specific pockets of consumers.
Ads for King of the Hill, the animated TV show from Fox Broadcasting Co., Los Angeles, are currently displayed on 100 carts. They will disappear and be replaced in two weeks when a new Fox campaign breaks, a Fox representative said.
Fox jumped on the coffee kiosk idea because it “is location-driven, can target specific areas of Manhattan [and because other out-of-home sites in New York] are typically sold out,” the representative said.
BIO president Craig Kalter said the kiosks can provide 700,000 images per month, and are priced to compete with billboards.
Each cart displays six ads which are affixed and maintained by BIO.
