DALLAS-Blanchard Schaefer Advertising has selected Gary Hawthorne as its new creative director. He will succeed JanBlanchard, who has served as creative director since the agency’s inception in 1988.

Blanchard this month officially retires from her full-time work at the Arlington, Texas, agency to be a full-time homemaker. She remains a partner in the firm and will participate in management, providing input on projects as needed.

Blanchard founded Blanchard Design 13 years ago. In 1995, she co-founded Blanchard Schaefer Advertising with partners Bobby Blanchard and Ken Schaefer.

Her replacement, Hawthorne, was recruited from Grey Worldwide in Fort Worth, Texas.
