CP+B Wins Buca di Beppo

SAN FRANCISCO — Crispin Porter + Bogusky has won Italian restaurant chain Buca di Beppo’s advertising account after a review, sources said.

The other finalists were Butler, Shine & Stern, Sausalito, Calif; Grant, Scott & Hurley, San Francisco and incumbent Kerker in Minneapolis, sources said. The chain spends roughly $4 million annually on advertising.

Crispin pitched the account as a bicoastal team with their Los Angeles and Miami offices, according to sources. The win includes creative and media responsibilities.

The chain, which has about to 90 restaurants in 25 states, started the review in early September and held final pitches in their Minneapolis offices last week. The restaurant opened with one location in a basement in 1993 and has since expanded nationwide. Buca di Beppo serves family-style Italian dishes and pastas.
