Community Colleges Put Media in Play

DALLAS The Dallas County Community College District is conducting a media review for its $1 million account, the client said.

Requests for proposals were due back last Friday. The board of trustees of the publicly supported two-year college system is scheduled to name a winner at its July 1 meeting. Incumbent Oken Media Services in Dallas, whose two-year contract is nearing expiration, is defending, the client said.

The district, which is comprised of seven schools throughout Dallas County that serve 60,000 college students and 54,000 continuing education students, is seeking a shop to provide broadcast and outdoor media planning and buying services.

The new three-year contract will have a two-year renewal option.

Local agencies handle creative work on a project basis for the district. Campaigns target the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area.
