Coming to Knoxville

Biggs/Gilmore Communications is opening a Knoxville, Tenn., office next month for its expanding business with longtime client Sea Ray Boats.
Sea Ray recently shifted print and promotional work to Biggs/Gilmore, naming the shop agency of record.
Previously, the Kalamazoo, Mich.-based agency was primarily responsible for the boat manufacturer’s Web site, although there has been a history of project assignments going back more than a decade.
The estimated $3 million advertising account was formerly with Davis-Newman-Payne Advertising in Knoxville.
The new Biggs/Gilmore office opens July 12. Staffing is still being determined, according to agency representative Dominick Gladstone. Initially, the division will be staffed by two employees.
“It will be a full-service office with limited staffing at first,” Gladstone said. “Initially, it’s to serve Sea Ray, but we hope to be noticed in the area and we hope there will be other opportunities.”
Besides Kalamazoo and Knoxville, the agency also has a field office in Indianapolis. That site handles the Baja Marine account.
Biggs/Gilmore’s first print work for Sea Ray, which is headquartered in Knoxville, is tagged, “Can you see farther than the next page in your day planner?” The ad breaks next month in Boating, Boating World and four other category magazines.
Biggs/Gilmore recently hired more than 20 people at its Kalamazoo office, a response to $10 million in account wins during the past six months. Current billings are approximately $85 million, Gladstone said. K
