Clarion Names A Chief Executive

Clarion Marketing and Communications has tapped Lance Smith, regional director of D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles for Eastern Europe, as its new chief executive. Ray Rizzo will relinquish that title but remain chairman of the direct marketing and promotion shop.
Rizzo will focus on new business and acquisitions, while Smith will run day-to-day operations at the $300 million agency, effective Aug. 3, said Roy Bostock, chief executive of Clarion parent The MacManus Group.
George Simko, a former president of DMB&B in Europe, has also been brought in as a consultant to help the Greenwich, Conn.-based
