Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners in Sausalito, Calif., has hired Chris Cardinal and Susan Macy Hayes as account directors. Cardinal previously helped lead the Sun Microsystems business at J. Walter Thompson in San Francisco and also worked on the SBC wireless and Wal-Mart and MasterCard online accounts at GSD&M in Austin, Texas. He is primarily charged with integrating the agency’s advertising, online marketing, design and strategic planning function for client Leap Wireless. Cardinal reports to managing director Patrick Kiss.
